FAQs
Do I need therapy?
Ultimately, it's your choice whether you think you could benefit from therapy with me, however if you're already debating this, I would recommend booking an assessment with me. Together we can talk through if you would gain from coming.
I wouldn't recommend therapy if I genuinely believed it wouldn't benefit you. What is most important however is recognising no problem is too big or too small. So often I hear people say either "no one can help me" or "there are people much worse off than me". Neither of which are true. If you want to have a look at my areas of expertise they can also be found here.
What happens in a session?
As each client is unique, there's no set criteria for every session, it's based on a number of factors. However, I use a variety of different techniques such as using music, art or simply talking, which I base on how I think the client could most benefit.
Do I have to commit long term?
I will meet you initially for the assessment and if we decide it's beneficial for you to have therapy, the minimum number of sessions is six. From then on, we will review until you're satisfied that you've benefited sufficiently.
What if I have to cancel a session?
I understand that sometimes things do come up or there may be previously arranged conflicts. I operate a 48 hour cancellation policy. If you cancel within this timeframe, you will be charged for the session.
How long do sessions last?
Sessions last 50 minutes.
Are these sessions confidential?
Every session is absolutely confidential, however it is my duty to ensure your wellbeing. Therefore, if I believe you're going to seriously hurt yourself or others, it would have to be taken further. However, it is important to note that no action will be taken without your prior knowledge.
Can sessions be covered with my health insurance policy?
I cover insurance under Vitality Health at this moment in time.
